It really is Friday 9th July (and we only have 1 more week in Wales)

About 17 years ago, Momery Twigg and I had a divine seafood platter at what I remembered as a pub in Mathry.  Some research this holiday suggested it may have been the Farmers Arms so, given it is Friday and misty, Mum and I set off on the bus to investigate.
To me this is a real Welsh day and I love it.  It was, however, an hour till opening time so we perused the local church.  Not only was it unlocked and cosy inside but the children of the parish had obvioulsy been set the task of documenting their local history.  Their tapestry did not quite equal the Fishguard Tapestry but it was very folksy and good.
Here's their take on the Fishguard invasion.
And here's one for John the Bread - I know you weren't evacuated to Mathry, but it was Wales.
Then on to the Farmer's.  They no longer do seafood platters but they do do a 3 Course Meal for £5!!!
We dined in The Conservatory
never expecting to be beneath vines, grapes, bougainvilleas and passionfruit.
Then it was back to the weather and the bus-stop.

  3. £5 lunch menu - 3 courses
broccoli & stilton soup / whitebait
    mackeral / liver & bacon / 2 other things I wasn't interested in
apple & summerfruit crumble (definitely no oats) / chocolate gateau.
Simply cooked and served - a perfect lunch.
Mum had a pint of Worthington and I had Summer Blonde which is a light bitter and very good.
